PRESS RELEASE: Library creating accessible parking on Second Avenue

TIMMINS: TUESDAY, June 6, 2017

The Timmins Public Library is increasing accessibility to its building by adding accessible parking spaces on Second Avenue.

Construction will begin this summer and will take one to two weeks to complete.  A total of four accessible spaces will be created.  Half of the cost of this project will be funded by the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program, through FedNor.

The Library Board chose this option as a cost-effective alternative to the original plan of constructing a second entrance off the parking lot. The Library has been in communication with the Municipal Accessibility Advisory Committee, sharing details of the new plan.
