Downloadable app gives patrons convenience of a virtual library card and easy access to collections
The Library is pleased to announce the launch of the new user-friendly Timmins Public Library app. Delivering advanced functionality, the app makes it easy to digitally browse the library’s collections, place items on hold, check out digital content and renew items.
Patrons will enjoy a virtual library card feature on their device, eliminating the frustration of a forgotten or misplaced card. The virtual card can be used for any library transaction that traditionally required a physical card. In addition, users can add multiple cards, link accounts, manage their family’s cards and switch between accounts with ease.
With an intuitive, easy-to-navigate interface, here’s what you can do with the new Timmins Public Library app:
- Browse physical and digital collections
- Place and manage holds
- View your checkouts and holds
- Download eBooks, eAudiobooks, music and movies from OverDrive/Libby and hoopla
- Access online resources 24/7
- Use your phone as your library card
- Access program calendars
- Select a French or English interface
- Find Library hours and locations at a glance
You can download the app from the Apple and Google Play App stores by searching “Timmins Public Library”, or by visiting this link. The app can be downloaded to multiple devices, requiring only a valid library card. If you need assistance downloading the app, please contact the library and a staff member will be able to help you.
